Objectives
Our focus is to provide a long-term home for the 'dedicated casual' player based in the UK and Europe. By 'casual' we mean players that have other commitments in real life such as their job, family and other interests, and whose play time may be be limited. By 'dedicated' we mean players willing to immerse themselves fully in the game and give 100% to the guild. We are one of those guilds that falls somewhere between casual and hardcore. Casual in our playtime, but hardcore in our organisation and commitment to the guild!
Our style will be to approach the game with intelligence. Yes we want to build a settlement and be able to defend it and territory around it, but we understand that this may take some time and require us to work cooperatively with other guilds. As such we intend to focus on crafting and trading with others to carve out a place for ourselves as a useful guild to our neighbours rather than an agressive one!
We also intend to explore the world of Agon and discover it's secrets! Yes we are all looking forward to the core PvP focus of the game, but at the same time we will seek out as much PvE content as we can. We believe that much power can be gained through knowledge, and combined with our high level of guild organisation we hope to fully mitigate any disadvantage we may have due to our limited play times!
Despite our neutral stance and willingness to get involved in alliances for mutual benefit please be clear this guild will in no way be soft! Our Lawful Neutral to Lawful Evil alignment means that while we may not be openly agressive we will still react harshly if attacked or crossed, and will defend our interests to the death!
Also we will be highly organised in Darkfall and ALL members will be expected to contribute to the guild so that we can meet our objectives. All members, from recruits to officers will be assigned Roles. Members may have one or many Roles, and these will be assigned based on members' play time, ability and dedication, and will change frequently based on these attributes. Finally, as a guild we choose our games carefully. As long as Darkfall delivers we intend to remain in the game for the long-term, and that will be reflected in our organisation, dedication and the members we accept. Joining Lux Arcana means joining a friendly, loyal and very stable community that will support you if you support us.
Membership
We already have 30+ players joining us from other branches and allied guilds, and our goal is to have between 50 and 100 players by release. While our members mostly have long gaming histories, these tend to be more PvE based than PvP or FPS. Regardless, we are highly organised group of players and ready to fully embrace the challenges promised by Darkfall! In particular we welcome a move away from the recent 'themepark' trend in MMOs to the 'sandbox' approach promised by Darkfall where we the players are left to forge our own destinies!

First-timers or experienced gamers equally welcome.
Adults with a mature, friendly and outgoing attitude to life.
Casual but dedicated players who, although they may have other commitments and interests in real-life, still like to play hard when they can! Players used to grouping, contributing and getting involved in the guild. We are NOT a guild for solo players, unsocial players or selfish players!
Highly Desirable
Players that are creative or that have strong organisational skills. We want proactive members. Players that show a passion for the game, for helping fellow members and getting things done! These types of players will quickly be assigned positions of responsibility.
This guild also requires a very strong core group of crafters. We want players who have dedicated huge amounts of time to crafting in other games, who pride themselves in learning everything there is to know about crafting, or who have been involved in crafting fan sites. In particular a huge crafting effort will be required to construct our guild settlement, ships and equip our members from day to day!
Roleplayers are welcome even though we are not a Roleplaying guild. From my experience Roleplayers are often very passionate about games and highly imaginative, both very desirable qualities for membership. You will be free to roleplay in the guild with others that wish to do so also.
Not acceptable
Immature players. Players that whine, complain and do not accept guild policy. Players with negative attitudes. Agressive or anti-social players. We do not tolerate l33t speak - proper english please! Keep trash talking to an absolutely minimum - in character NOT personal!
