Honestly people, what is the point of flaming, trolling, and bashing this dev team in general? It looks great, they claim good features. and so what if it IS vapourware?
I check for updates maybe once every couple weeks, takes up almost NO time.
I just decided to make an account and to make a point to everyone: Who cares? The game comes out sweet, it doesn't whatever. It's not hurting anyone, and I know I have better things to do with my time than bash a game.
Ignore the trolls, character assasins, w/e, time will tell what will happen, meanwhile no one should care. They only make themselves look worse with each post.
EDIT: People who DO bash the game non-stop for no apparent reason are therefore either people with no life or posters hired by other companies to deter newcomers. I mean, who would else bother with this?
If your a newcomer don't be scared away, the one thing that WILL complete this game is fan support, so either keep some faith or ignore the game.
Yeah dude i deffinately agree theres no need for this. I mean you think world of warcraft is cool. well it is because i own it but it is not as good as Dark Fall. Screw world of warcraft. Im deffinately pre ordering this game. I mean come on. Real time combat,build your own city and armies, build your own boat and the graphics are freakin awsome. I think the only competitor even close is Age of Conan. But dont worry because DARK FALL is going to OWN ASS.
The problem is that these people were/are spoiled children that think everyone in the world owe them someting, so when a dev team doesn't give them what they want, when they demand it, they through temper tantrums. Or they are just fanbois of another game and want to try to bring down the competition, which they can't do, because there are already to many fanbois of DFO to keep the good word from being spread. =)

Due to the length of development and the frenzied fans will it live up to expectations, the longer you have to wait for something the better it will have to be. 3. Is it real? Or just a collection of images some people or making as a joke to keep people strung along. 4. Zealotist fanbois who swear to DF their souls and compare it to games currently out even tho it doesn't really exist yet.

Graphics are fine. When you are talking about large scale seige battles in mmo's, you don't want WoW graphics. It is call video lag, but I am sure you considered that.
It may not live up to my expectations, it may end up being a total POS, but I sure as heck want to give it a shot because if they pull off half of what they say, it will be 10X better than SB or UO was and we need a decent PvP game.
I don't think a joke could last that long without someone coming out and proving it is BS. Especially when a known guild leader has visited the offices. He has been known since before the announcement.

As has been said , many would love darkfall to be real. Unfortunately it gets harder every single year to believe they are actually doing anything with it any longer. At this point the Graphics are already sliding back into 2001 land. One of their main reasons for taking it back into re-work in 2003 was to update the graphics. Guess what... those graphics they updated are already substandard again even if they updated them to be cutting edge for what 2004 engines could do.
The game is vaporware at this point. They've made statement after statement after statement that the game is ready. So why not have it in beta if it is? Why? Because it's NOT obviously. Otherwise it would be. You don't get a game "ready for beta 'today'!!" and then not start a beta "just cuz".
The day they are actually in active beta, with real players beta testing, is the day this stops becoming vaporware. I hope it's soon though. Pretty soon they'll have to take it back into development again to update the graphics... and we know how well that went last time ;)
oh and what happened to todays dev journal? Those get cancelled for 2008? ;)

Hate to break it to you but WoW has MUCH better graphics then Darkfall does and animations.. They have top of the line modelers and texture artists. Even though WoW launched in 2004 , it still looks real nice graphically.
Forgive me, but I'm brand new to this forum. I'm curious about the timeline of this game. While I'm genuinely interested in Darkfall, I'm a bit of a realist. These developer's are based in Greece, right? I'm just curious as to what steps have been demonstrated to fans. Have they attended conventions in the past, have they leased time on superservers to run tests? What's the scoop?

Wow Teedle keep diging that idoit hole for yourself. Wows graphics arent really that great at all. The main reason wow is so popular is because even the most outdated computers can run the game. It only took me 3 to 4 months to get bored of it, way to much of the same crap everday with that game.

Ok, lets kill those off 1 by 1... 1. The graphics are FINE, the game has been in "real" development for FOUR years 2. Again (you wouldn't BELIEVE how many times I've said this) IT HAS ONLY BEEN IN DEVELOPMENT FOR FOUR YEARS. 3. What kind of joke would last for FOUR YEARS and have ~100 Screenshots AND 2-3 videos WHO would have the TIME for this, plus the MONEY required to make this would make it RIDICULOUS to even THINK that it could POSSIBLY be a JOKE. Seriously guys (and gals). I really hope that this game releases this year as they've supposedly promised somewhere on the forums at Darkfall.com.
And when it does, you all that are waiting on this game will see what trash this game really is. Blue Screens of Death. Insane Lag. Glitches. People walking thru the ground. People walking into the sky. Unresponsive, clutter style controls. Long server downtimes and only more problems when they open the servers back up.
This is the kindof stuff I predict when and IF this game ever does release.

Personally I think it's hilarious that people dedicate their time to trolling something as much as they can. Deep, deep down maybe they're just more desperate than anyone else for the game to come out than anyone else and feel the need to hide it somehow. Otheriwse why would they bother and not just go play games they like.
Darkfall's being made by an independent team who's on their first project. Not surprising that their PR isn't like that of Mythic or the colossal hype machine that was AoC, or that they're taking their time. Things come up unexpectedly especially when it's your first major project. I can happily entertain the idea thay DArkfall will come out when it's ready and when it does it will be great, until then I'll continue playing games that I enjoy playing.
Remeber WoW got called vaporware for years aswell before it came out.
