Just wow. First of all, by my posts (if you were someone with a clue) you should have gathered I'm at least capable of forming a complete sentence properly. Secondly, why stoop to talking about my real life when I'm talking about a VIDEO GAME on the internet? Forums allow people to discuss a video game. I discussed with you all my opinions. If you don't agree, you can reply with something that is at least remotely relevant to the topic, rather than try and degrade a person's character on a completely anonymous website. Secondly, I'm a US Army Infantryman serving and protecting my country. What have you done that is so worthy to be able to sit on a pedestal and talk shit? MMMMMK. |

On the other hand chaosloc, you shouldn't be bragging about being in the Army especially not on a videogame forum where it's not pertinent to the discussion. Now back to the topic: MMOs suck, lol. Seriously though, I like the idea of online games with persistent worlds, but the genre has tied down the MMO part with an 'RPG' part. In nearly every MMO the combat is boring and skilless, enemy AI is almost non-existent, PvP is little more than a test of character stats, and the long-term gameplay boils down to an ultra-repetitive level grind. AOC and Warhammer don't seem to be mixing up this formula much, and any steps forward Darkfall claims to be making are negated because it's seems inevitable that the devs won't fulfill their promises. From what I understand Darkfall will still have character stats too, which is a big turn-off for me. Oh well, hopefully Huxley will be fun. |

I dont understand the need to prove some form of superiority over the others on an internet forum which you know absolutly nothing about. Are you guys that obsessed with your e-peen that its so much more important than an actual discussion about the game what this forum was designed for? I will join in for as long as needed until people see its all bullshit to bring up anything other than the game though. But then ok i will try this again since apart from your incedibly dumb, yet original opening sentence (yeh i havent heared that one before!) you did actually make a valid point about mmorpgs. Every mmorpg has repetitive tasks, but then again which game hasnt? in an FPS, you just keep killing people over and over again too. In an RTS your missions almost always consists of building a base harvesting resources andd killing your enemies too, and yeh an mmo is no different, but people like the fact they are building a character and get rewarded for the time and effort they put in. And the combat is part of why you many people like the Darkfall concept, your character still has stats, yet there are no levels in it so it isnt all about stats as mmo's like wow. Darkfall offers the possibillity for a new guy to still be able to kill an experienced long time player if he has better skills. Now before the Vaporsquard comments on this, I am talking about the concept hmmkay! |

It seems that every race will have its own uniqueness, and thanks to RvR combat it could turn out to be a war filled game of great preportions. Plus, its set in the Warhammer universe so thats a great point too. =D I reall have nothing to say about AoC, though it seems their aiming for better graphics over generally exciting combat... Think of it as a advanced form of pointing and clicking. Kind of makes mounted combat redundant, when they have a level cap on them. Mammoths, I can understand. But horses? Golly, I sure like walking, keeps my barabrian warrior nice and healthy! =( Darkfall, the most innovative of the bunch. Yes yes yes its taking its time and I wont bother explaining why your wrong... and stupid, but whatever. Seems like the races are copy and paste though, thank god they didnt decide gnomes needed to be played, so the wolf race can expect to get some decent gnome hunts. But it will be a problem when your confronted by bunny hoping mad men maxed in every skill. How will they stop people from becoming skilled in every skill? =o I sure hope we dont get another persons life story to be spilled because they needed to prove a point with a complete stranger. =P I have multiple blags. |

Skill decay plus the greater influence of the players own skill seems a viable way of doing that, and if it doesnt there will probably be a cap on it. I wonder more on how they will keep the game interesting on a pve lvl if theres little reward for putting extra time in. |

It was pertinent when Nightfreak started talking about rl issues rather than my original post. But yea, I see your point. I must have been busy and not read the replies to my own post, so let's break it down. 1) AoC is terrible. If my friend can write a hack that can adjust run speed, make you fly, and allow you to 1 shot anything in the game...it sucks. Period. I won't even go into all the bugs the game has currently. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, now that I've resurrected a dead thread, let's see some more flames. PS: All the flamers are being berated by a redneck Army punk. How's it feel douchebags? |

Right. So what they still can't hit a date they set for like the 50th time mmk. If they can miss a date for a simple video release, what makes you think they will be able to have customer support, billing, publishing roles and responsibilities, and in-game support ready for a 2008 release? No one has still answered one of my posts about whether there has been a flurry of activity within AudioVisual SA setting up this new gaming division. Don't you think if they were to setup a new department they'd be burning up the web and phone lines recruiting? Here's what's gonna happen. The game isn't gonna release this year, and Tasos and crew will lay the blame onto the publisher, saying it was unfeasible for them to publish this year due to not having the manpower and resources to do so. We'll revisit this little gem of a post Jan 1 2009 after everyone's dreams are shattered like the last 7 years has been. /EDIT - I notice you didn't respond to my pointing out that you started with the personal attacks, so apparently I'll take that as an apology.
